All students who do not have college-level English and/or math
are required to take the Accuplace placement exam.
Placement testing is scheduled regularly throughout the year. Free Accuplacer preparation workshops are held on a walk-in basis in the Center for Academic Progress (CAP) in Lafayette Hall Room A209. CAP hours are posted here. To schedule a placement test call (203) 332-5109. On the day of the exam, students will need a Banner ID number and a photo ID in order to take the test.

Upon completion of the workshop, students will be eligible to sign up for the Accuplacer exam. Students are required to bring a photo ID with them on the day of the test.
Students with qualifying SAT or ACT scores may be exempt from testing.* Waiver forms are available in the Admissions office. All waivers must be signed by the Director or Assistant Director of Admissions and include a copy of current SAT or ACT Scores. SAT/ACT scores are valid for 2 years only.
*SAT: 500 in Math, 450 in Critical Reading
ACT: 18 in Math, 37 in combined English and Reading
