The main Public Safety Office is located by the information desk in LH-A105, Lafayette Hall.  There is a satellite office at the Broad Street entrance, LH-C101.  In Beacon Hall, the security office is in room BH-110.  There are additional satellite offices throughout the building.  Our parking garage security office is located at the entrance to garage. The Public Safety Office is where Lost and Found is located. The college employs both state Police Officers as well as non sworn State Building and Grounds Officers, along with Securitas contract Security Guards.  The college and adjoining parking facility are patrolled during the hours of operation.  HCC has over 200 closed circuit cameras that record 24 hrs a day 7 days a week including the parking garage. 

There are emergency intercoms located throughout the campus, and are clearly marked by a blue light above them.  These intercoms will connect you with the Public Safety Office.   Feel free to use them in the case of an emergency. There are also telephones located throughout the campus.  In the case of an emergency, dial **, which connects you to the Public Safety office.  For non-emergencies, dial the 4 digit number 5025 on-campus.

Please assist security in keeping Housatonic a safe place by taking common sense precautions. Always place valuables in your car's trunk and lock your car while it is in the parking garage. Carry only what you need for class and make sure you keep your valuables with you at all times when on campus.

Call the Public Safety office (203) 332-5025 or the campus emergency line (203) 332-5296 to report any suspicious person or activity you may see on campus.

In accordance with state and federal regulations, the Public Safety Department will publish an annual campus crime report and security procedures. The report is available each September for the preceding calendar year. See below for the most recent report available.
