HCC Summer Registration
Going On Now

Two Sessions Start June 2,
Third Begins July 7

BRIDGEPORT – Two of Housatonic Community College’s three summer sessions start June 2.

Session I, an eight-week session, runs June 2 – July 24 while Session II, a five-week session, runs June 2 – July 3. Session III, five-week session runs July 7 – August 7.

For the first time, HCC will be offering a course in MATLAB, the computer language of the scientific community that many math, science and engineering degree programs require students to use. The class meets Thursdays from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Tuition for a three-credit course is $507, compared to $2,000 at local private colleges.

Students can register for Sessions I and II by dropping a completed registration form and a check or other payment information in the drop box in the HCC lobby through May 21; registering by mail (Housatonic Community College, 900 Lafayette Blvd., Bridgeport, CT 06604), fax (203-332-5251) or online (www.housatonic.edu) through May 21, or by registering in person at the Registrar’s office in B109, Lafayette Hall, Monday-Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. through June 2. Students can register for Session III by mail, fax, online or drop-off through July 1, and in-person through July 8.

The summer sessions offer something for everyone. The three-session structure gives students the flexibility to study at their own pace, tailor their course load to their individual goals, and still have time for a vacation before the Fall semester starts.

Sessions II and III, the five-week sessions, are appropriate for people who want to accomplish as much as they can in a short time. Session I, the eight-week session, is tailor-made for working students who are trying to balance education with a full-time job and/or family responsibilities.

All three sessions are appropriate for HCC students enrolled in associate degree or certificate programs, as well as students at other colleges and universities who are looking for quality transfer credits at an affordable cost.

While HCC’s credits transfer easily, students of other colleges are encouraged to clear their summer course plans with their college registrar or academic advisor.
