HCC Offering Food Operator Certification Program Starts July 5
BRIDGEPORT- Housatonic Community College will offer
a Qualified Food Operator Certification course starting July 5.
The non-credit
seminar will cover information needed to pass the ServSafe® Certification
exam, which will be offered at the end of the class. It will cover latest
updates in the science of food safety and best practices used in the industry,
including the challenges of sanitation, the flow of food through the operation,
sanitary facilities, and pest management.
The ServSafe® food safety training program is one of the dining
industry's strongest educational tools administered by the National
Restaurant Association Educational Foundation (NRAEF). ServSafe® Certification
is approved by the Connecticut Department of Public Health to meet
Qualified Food Operator requirements and is also accredited by the
American National Standards Institute (ANSI)-Conference for Food Protection
(CFP).
The class, to be taught by Cedric Grech, will meet July 5, 6 and 7
from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. in Room B123 in Lafayette Hall. The seminar
fee is $295 and includes all materials as well as the certification
exam.
