Culture of Creativity Focus of HCC Performance
BRIDGEPORT – The culture of creativity will
be spotlighted Thursday, April 21, when Housatonic Community College
students pay tribute to the many different art forms in various languages.
Dubbed Arts on Cloud 11: Honoring Creativity, the
event will feature HCC students presenting pieces in the form of song,
dance, drama, poetry, and music. Representatives of the performing
arts field have been invited to attend the performance for an introduction
to the students and hopefully pave the way for future opportunities.
Invitees include the Bridgeport Arts Council, state university performing
arts program faculty, Fairfield Arts Council, Earl Mosley Institute
of the Art, Playhouse on the Green, and Nurevealed Photography.
The event, which is open to the public at no charge, will begin at
7 p.m. in the Performing Arts Center in Lafayette Hall.
The event is being held as part of the college’s Third Thursday
Cultural Celebration series. During most months in the academic year,
a performing artist representing a specific culture comes to the college
on the third Thursday to develop and perform a piece with Theater Arts
students and give a solo performance.
For more information, contact Prof. Geoffrey Sheehan at 203-332-5270.
