CULTURE OF ENGLISH/ELIZABETHAN RENAISSANCE FOCUS OF HCC PERFORMANCES
BRIDGEPORT – The
Culture of the English/Elizabethan Renaissance will be spotlighted
Thursday, April 15, when the singing quartet The Elizabethan Consort makes
a two-part appearance at Housatonic Community College.
The group will conduct a workshop with HCC Theater Arts students from
2 to 3:15 p.m., in which a performance piece will be developed. At 7
p.m., the piece developed in the workshop will be performed and the group
will give a solo performance. Both
events will be held in the Performing Arts Center in Lafayette Hall.
The events, which are free and open to the public, are being held as part of
the college’s Third Thursday Cultural Celebration series. During most months
in the academic year, a performing artist representing a specific culture comes
to the college on the third Thursday to develop and perform a piece with Theater
Arts students and give a solo performance.
The college is located at 900 Lafayette Blvd., Bridgeport, less than 150 yards
off I-95 (Exit 27) and Rte. 8 (Exit 1) in downtown Bridgeport, a block from the
Arena at Harbor Yard. Free parking is available in the HCC garage.
