HCC To Hold Forum On Services For Female War Veterans
Himes, Finch To Attend
March 1 at 12 p.m.
BRIDGEPORT – Housatonic Community College
will hold a panel discussion March 1 on the needs of female veterans,
who have been called the forgotten heroes of recent wars.
Panelists
will include U. S. Rep. Jim Himes; Bridgeport Mayor Bill Finch; Joy Kiss, CEO
of Homes for the Brave; Shalini Madaras, President of the Kick for Nick Foundation;
and veteran Lauren Crust.
“The forum will focus on what is being done at the national, regional,
and local levels to meet the needs of these forgotten heroes and what needs
to be done,” said HCC professor Michael Amico, advisor to the Psychology
Club, which is sponsoring the event.
The discussion, which is free and open to the public, begins at noon
in the Events Center in Beacon Hall.
HCC is located at 900 Lafayette Blvd. in downtown Bridgeport, less
than 150 yards off I-95 (Exit 27) and Rte. 8 (Exit 1), a block from
the Arena at Harbor Yard.
