USO DANCE NOV. 18 AT HCC
TO COLLECT GOODS FOR TROOPS
FREE AND OPEN TO PUBLIC
BRIDGEPORT—Students at Housatonic Community
college are holding a USO dance Wednesday, Nov. 18 to collect goods
for U.S. troops.
Attendees
are encouraged dress for the theme, either by dressing as their favorite 1940s
pinup or as a member of the Armed Forces.
While the event is free and open to the public, attendees are encouraged
to bring goods for the soldiers. Items sought include travel
sized: toothpaste, toothbrushes, dental floss, razors, chap
stick, foot powder, deodorants, alcohol-free moist
wipes, shampoo, alcohol-free mouth wash, sunscreen,
and skin moisturizer.
Also, snacks such as beef jerky, granola bars, cookies, gum,
hard candy, tuna snack kits, lollipops, tea bags, coffee singles, and
crystal lite are being sought, as well as other items such as music
CDs, nerf toys, pens, pencils, stationery, envelopes, and global phone
cards. The dance, sponsored by the Student Senate and the Community
Action Network (CAN), will be held from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. in the Events
Center in Beacon Hall.
HCC is located at 900 Lafayette Blvd. in downtown Bridgeport, less
than 150 yards off I-95 (Exit 27) and Rte. 8 (Exit 1), a block from
the Arena at Harbor Yard
