CULTURE OF HIP HOP FOCUS OF HCC PERFORMANCES NOV. 19
BRIDGEPORT – The
Culture of Hip Hop will be spotlighted Thursday, Nov. 19 when dancer/choreographer
Isaiah Little makes
a two-part appearance at Housatonic Community College.
Little will conduct a workshop with HCC Theater Arts students from
2 to 3:15 p.m., when the group and HCC Theater Arts students will develop
a performance piece. At 7 p.m., the piece developed in the workshop
will be performed and Little will give a solo performance. Both
events will be held in the Performing Arts Center in Lafayette Hall.
The events, which are free and open to the public, are being held as
part of the college’s Third Thursday Cultural Celebration series.
During most months in the academic year, a performing artist representing
a specific culture comes to the college on the third Thursday to develop
and perform a piece with Theater Arts students and give a solo performance.
The college is located at 900 Lafayette Blvd, Bridgeport, less than 150 yards
off I-95 (Exit 27) and Rte, 8 (Exit 1) in downtown Bridgeport, a block from the
Arena at Harbor Yard. For more information, contact Prof. Geoffrey Sheehan at
203-332-5270.
