HCC LAW ENFORCEMENT CAREER DAY APRIL 17
BRIDGEPORT – Housatonic Community College will hold its first annual Law Enforcement Career Day Friday, April 17 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
At the event, some 25 federal, state and local law enforcement agencies will be on hand, recruiting law enforcement officers for their respective departments. These include the U.S. Marshals, Secret Service, Army, Marines and Coast Guard military police, and 15 local police departments, including in Bridgeport, Hartford, New Haven, Greenwich, and Darien.
Law enforcement is viewed as a growth
profession because of the
anti-crime finds contained in the federal economic stimulus package.
Speakers will include Acting Chief Joseph L.Gaudett, Bridgeport
Police department; Tom Flaherty, Executive Director of POST (Police
Academy for the State of CT, Meriden); Kevin Russo, Assistant . State's Attorney; and Nathan
Hein, Counselor Supervisor for Bridgeport Correctional Facility.
The
event, which is free and open to the public, will be held in the Events
Center in Beacon Hall.
Housatonic Community College is located at 900 Lafayette Blvd. in Bridgeport,
less than 150 yards off I-95 (Exit 27) and Rte. 8 (Exit 1)a block from
the arena at Harbor Yard.
