BYSIEWICZ, FINCH TO SPEAK OCT 2 AT HCC
BRIDGEPORT -- Secretary of State Susan Bysiewicz and Bridgeport Mayor Bill Finch will headline a list of guest speakers coming to Housatonic Community College Thursday, October 2 to discuss issues to consider when voting and promote HCC’s Student Poll Worker Initiative.
At the event, which is being held on Student Activities Club Day at the college, Bridgeport Registrar of Voters Sandi Ayala will be on hand to register voters. Professors Joanne Anzenberger and David Koch will be on hand to sign up applicants for the poll worker program.
Poll workers receive $100-145, depending on the town to which they are assigned. Students must attend a training session to be able to participate. The training session will be offered twice: Friday, Oct 17 from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and Friday, Oct. 24 from 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m.
The event will be held at 11 a.m. adjacent to the student activities area on the third floor of the college’s new building, Beacon Hall.
