Housatonic Community College taps Anita T. Gliniecki for president's post
BRIDGEPORT -- Anita T. Gliniecki of Monroe has been named president of Housatonic Community College.
Gliniecki was chosen after a nationwide search drew 41 applications. Gliniecki has been serving as acting president since Janis M. Hadley retired in Sept. 2006 after leading the school for 10 years.
Gliniecki joined Housatonic in 2003 as academic dean, responsible for all college-credit instruction, library services and academic advising.
Previously, she served as vice president for academic services; dean of instruction; dean of applied arts and sciences; dean of nursing, allied health and occupational studies; and dean of nursing at St. Clair Community College in Port Huron, Mich.
She has a bachelor of science degree in nursing from Wayne State University in Detroit, and a master's degree in nursing from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor.
