IMMIGRATION FORUM MAY 4 AT HCC

BRIDGEPORT - A special forum on immigration issues will be held Saturday, May 4 at Housatonic Community College.

The forum, sponsored by HCC and the West Indian-American Association of Greater Bridgeport (WIAAGB), will feature a panel discussion designed to answer audience questions about the field of immigration. Panelists will include Dr. Daniel Stracka of the International Institute of Bridgeport and immigration attorney Robert Maresca of Bridgeport. The event is open to the public.

The forum will be held from 9 a.m. to noon in the HCC Performing Arts Center. Refreshments will be served.
With its five-year-old campus in the heart of Connecticut's largest city, HCC has experienced a 61 percent increase in enrollment since its January 1997 move downtown. According to the most recent statistics released by the Washington D.C.-based American Association of Community Colleges, HCC is 34th fastest-growing community college in the country and the third fastest-growing community in the Northeast.

In response to increased enrollments and changing workplace needs both regionally and nationally, HCC has increased the number of programs offered from 43 to 65 since moving to the new campus.
