Monthly Report #15
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
During the month of January the following significant construction activities
continue or have been achieved:
- MEPS Trade Contractors continue to install hangers from the ceiling to support their future work;
- Installation of the new ductwork and chilled and hot water piping continued this period;
- Installation of new storm water waste lines within Beacon Hall continued this period;
- Installation of electrical conduits continued this period;
- Installation of new sanitary lines continued this period;
- Installation of aluminum window and curtainwall frames and glazing continued this period;
- Installation of lite gage interior framing at stairs “A” and “B” continued this period;
- Piping to new boilers, hot water tank and chillers continues this period;
- MEPS inspection and sign-off by the DPW’s Building Official of classrooms on the third floor north side achieved this period.
- Lite gage framing and drywall continues this period on the second floor with work begun on the third floor;
- Installation of branch feeder wiring begun this period;
- Completion of the erection of Structural Steel for the overhead bridge from the parking garage to Beacon Hall;
- Completion of the interior masonry work;
- Continued installation of the Exterior Metal Panel System;
During the month of February the following significant construction activities will commence or continue:
- Completion of the installation of hanger assemblies to support future mechanical and electrical systems;
- Continued installation of the new MEPS systems throughout Beacon Hall;
- Completion of exterior cold formed metal framing at the “A” and “B” stairwells;
- Commencement of interior painting on the second floors;
- Commencement of the installation of acoustical ceiling grid systems;
The General Contractor has updated the Construction Schedule for Beacon Hall. The schedule issued has a data date of January 15, 2008. This schedule indicates that the “Substantial Completion” will be achieved during the week of August 14. This is slip of about six weeks.
The Construction Administrator continues to meet throughout the month with the Project Team chairing the Owner’s Meetings and participating in the General Contractor’s Subcontractor Coordination Meetings.
