Monthly Report #9
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
During the month of July the following significant construction activities continue or have been achieved:
- Placement of concrete over closed up floor openings on the second and third floors continues;
- Continued erection of structural steel;
- Placement of the new foundation walls on the south and southeast elevations;
- Placement of concrete infills at Slab on Grade over MEPS sub slab installations continues;
- Continued cutting of the existing slab on grade in order to install the new MEPS under slab work.
- Renovation work in the existing Performing Arts Center (PAC) continues;
- MEPS Trade contractors continue to install hangers from the ceiling to support their future work;
- Spray fire proofing continues on the second floor;
- Installation of the new ductwork and chilled water piping begun this period;
- Installation of new storm water waste lines begun this period;
- Installation of electrical conduits begun this period.
During the month of August the following significant construction activities will commence:
- Placement of concrete slab infills over underground utilities within Beacon Hall;
- Completion of the erection of Structural Steel at the West and East additions;
- Continued installation of hanger assemblies to support future mechanical and electrical systems;
- Completion of the main field of the roofing system;
- Continued installation of the new MEPS through out Beacon Hall;
- Continued renovation work in the Performing Arts Center.
- Commencement of exterior and interior masonry work;
- Commencement of exterior cold formed metal framing.
Newfield has updated the Construction Schedule for Beacon Hall with a data date of July 17, 2007. The schedule for the Performing Arts Center has not been updated from the last data date. However, as of the end of the month, the construction is on target based on the schedules.
The Construction Administrator continues to meet throughout the month with the Project Team chairing the Owner’s Meetings and participating in the General Contractor’s Subcontractor Coordination Meetings.
