Monthly Report #6
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
During the month of April the following significant construction activities have continued:
- Interior grade beams;
- Installation of the new seismic brace frame steel;
- Installation of the new steel columns and beams;
- Delivery of the new steel joists and deck.
- Installation of beams and metal deck on the second and third floors to close up existing floor openings;
- Placement of the new foundation walls on the west and north elevations;
Conduit runs for power, telephone and data from the existing College into the South Building;
During the month of May the following significant construction activities will commence:
- Placement of concrete over closed up floor openings on the second and third floors;
- Continued erection of structural steel;
- Placement of the new foundation walls on the south and southeast elevations;
- Placement of concrete infills at Slab on Grade over grade beams and MEPS sub slab installations;
- Continued cutting of the existing slab on grade in order to install the new MEPS under slab work.
- Renovation work in the existing Performing Arts Center (PAC);
Newfield has updated the Construction Schedule with a data date of April 15, 2007. As of the end of the month, the construction is on target based on the updated schedule.
The Construction Administrator continues to meet throughout the month with the Project Team chairing the Owner’s Meetings and participating in the General Contractor’s Subcontractor Coordination Meetings.
