Continuing Education (CE)
Continuing Education (CE) is a fast track, high quality, low cost, non-credit program developed to offer you educational courses with experienced instructors. Here at CE, we offer nearly 100 enrichment courses each semester, including professional training for career development, certification and licensure programs, and recreational classes for personal enjoyment. Take these courses to enhance your professional skills, improve job performance, receive a job promotion, change careers, and improve your resume. Our classes are specially designed to fit your busy schedule with the quickest path to reach your goals without the hassle.
- No Visa, citizenship, or proof of state residency required!
- No GED or HS diploma required for most programs!
- No immunization proof required for most programs!
- Ages 12 and above are welcome to register for most programs!

If you are making a cash payment, register in-person at the CE Dept by 3:45 pm Monday – Friday.

Payment Policy
You must submit your registration form with 100% FULL PAYMENT in order to enroll in CE courses. You may use a credit card (Visa, MasterCard, or Discover), cash, check, or money order to pay for a Continuing Education (CE) course. Make the check or money order, for the amount of your fees, payable to Housatonic Community College.
Confirmation Letter
You will receive a Confirmation Letter in the mail within days of registering for a CE course. The letter includes the class meeting days, times, and room number. It also includes information on textbooks (if required) and has an attached Temporary Parking Pass.
Textbooks
Textbooks may be required for your class. If a textbook is required, it will be an additional cost. Your Confirmation Letter will let you know if required textbooks are needed for your class. Do not purchase the textbook(s) more than one week before your class begins, in case of cancellation. Textbooks are available to purchase in the Campus Bookstore.

Parking
Students should park in the College’s parking garage. The entrance is located on Lafayette Blvd. There is ample free parking with handicap spots on each level and elevator access. Your Confirmation Letter will include a Temporary Parking Pass to use during your scheduled CE course times.
Refund Policy
Refunds are only issued in the cases of class withdrawal and class cancellation. There are no other exceptions. The Business Office will issue refunds in the form of a check. Please allow 2-4 weeks for processing and delivery.
Withdrawal Policy
Students must withdraw from a course, in writing, 72 hours before the class meets, in order to receive a full refund (See Refund Policy).
Cancellation Policy
The CE Dept reserves the right to discontinue, postpone, cancel, or combine classes and to change instructors when necessary. CE may cancel a course that lacks sufficient enrollment. If a course is cancelled, CE makes every effort to promptly notify all registered students by phone. A full refund is automatically processed, unless the student elects to transfer to another course or section (See Refund Policy).
CEUs
CEUs are available for most CE courses and must be requested, in writing, to the CE Dept before the class begins. There are no exceptions. One CEU credit is awarded for every 10 hours of actual classy time. 100% attendance, class participation, and completion of work are required and evaluated in order for students to be awarded CEUs.
