Beacon Hall Joins Lafayette Hall on HCC Campus!
In
September 2008, HCC became a multi-building campus as we opened the doors
to Beacon
Hall.
Classes began in this wonderful new facility, adding 30
new classrooms, 10 computer labs, and many student activity
spaces including a Wellness Center and quiet study space.
Beacon Hall is the new home for three academic departments: the Behavioral and Social Sciences Department which includes psychology, sociology, history, human services, criminal justice, and early childhood education; the Business Department which includes accounting, business, business office technology, marketing, management, and computer information systems; and most of the Humanities Department including English and literature, foreign languages, philosophy, theater arts, and communications.
The College's original campus building, now called Lafayette Hall, will continue to house most of the administrative functions for students. There you will still find Admissions, the Business Office, Financial Aid, Academic Advising, Counseling, and Registration. The Performing Arts Center (PAC), also in Lafayette Hall, was renovated this year and is now a professional quality instructional theater.
In addition to the main cafeteria in Lafayette Hall, Beacon Hall will offer a smaller cafeteria on the first floor offering a grill and snacks. In October, the HCC Bookstore will be moving to Beacon Hall and will be directly accessible from Broad Street as well as from within Beacon Hall.
Please consult the HCC Directory for office locations in both buildings.
