 The Arts - Visual & Performing

Put your creativity to work for you... study art, design, print & digital graphics, theater arts, and moreā€¦ Students also have the rare opportunity to study among the work of great masters of art, the Housatonic Museum of Art has the largest collection of any two-year college in the country. Among the artists included in the collection are: Picasso, Chagall, Matissee, Calder, Duere, and many more!

 Behavioral Health

The demand for behavioral healthcare is increasing. Housatonic's Behavioral Health programs prepare individuals for work in public and private agencies serving mentally ill and substance abusing individuals. Graduates of these programs can go on to obtain positions as counselors and case managers, or can transfer into a bachelor's program through one of our articulation agreements.

 Business & Finance

Business is one of the most popular fields of study for college students and include many of the top 100 best jobs identified by US News & World Report magazine. Whether you plan to transfer to a four-year college, begin a business career right away, or get ahead in your current profession, HCC is the smart place to start!

 Computer Science

Computers are behind everything we do... and that means a degree in computer science can take you almost anywhere! Computer Science is a very dynamic, intellectually stimulating and rewarding, and fun field. Computer scientists and software engineers/developers are in high demand and there are many lucrative career opportunities for them.

Criminal Justice

Chase an exciting career with a criminal justice degree or certificate! Each program is designed to provide students with the academic skills and general knowledge necessary for employment in a wide variety of agencies involved in the criminal justice process.

Whether you're an aspiring teacher, childcare provider or aide, Housatonic has a program for you! HCC offers both degree and certificate programs in Early Childhood Education, as well as a Pathway to Teaching Careers transfer program that aligns with Southern Connecticut State Universities teacher preparation program.

Engineering is about making dreams a reality! Housatonic offers a number of degree and certificate programs that provide a seamless articulation between the community college and four-year partner universities.

 Health Careers

Did you know. . . that you could have a healthcare career without being a nurse or a doctor? In fact, most people in healthcare belong to another group of professionals called allied health providers. These professionals work to deliver high-quality patient care services for the identification, prevention and treatment of diseases, disabilities and disorders.

General Studies/ Liberal Arts

Students uncertain about their career plans, or who are interested in a transfer path to a four year college, will find that both the General Studies and Liberal Arts program provide valuable opportunities to explore and test their interests.

Language & Communication

Housatonic offers a variety of programs in Communication and Foreign Languages, explore the rich and rewarding world of communications.
