What is a Distance-Learning Course?
A distance learning course is one which does not meet regularly in a classroom but is, instead, conducted by a professor through the use of a computer, e-mail, the Internet, and an occasional telephone conversation or a personal conference. Some courses use electronic bulletin boards and discussion groups. Students must discipline themselves and keep to a regular schedule.
The Distance-Learning option serves those students who need flexibility in scheduling and learning mediums. Students who are highly-motivated self-learners and enjoy an environment unencumbered by the traditional classroom setting are best served by this educational experience.
