Medical Coding ICD-10-CM
This ICD-10 course will prepare all coders to learn and/or be re-tested on ICD-10 diagnoses codes before the October 1, 2014 deadline. The AAPC and AHIMA are requiring all coders to be ICD-10 certified in order to keep their CPC certification as this October 1st deadline mandates the national use of ICD-10 coding for all diagnoses in the US. Students will learn the basic structure of the ICD-10 code including but not limited to, the category of disease, etiology of disease, body parts affected, severity of the illness as well as how to code a physician’s progress notes, operative notes etc. The ICD-10 exam is 75 questions and 3.5 hours long.
