HCC Faculty Web Page Guidelines for pages on the HCC site (placed by Webmaster)
HCC’s Website is designed and maintained for educational purposes. The College’s website and pages belong to HCC and are subject to the policies of the College.
The college will provide a basic page for each full-time faculty member. These pages cannot be maintained by the faculty at this point. A faculty page will include the following:
- Faculty Member’s Name
- Department Name
- Office Hours (Need to be updated each semester)
- Office Number
- Phone Number
- e-mail address
- Brief biographical summary of faculty member regarding his/ her professional history and interests. The bio should be provided by the faculty member and be written in the third person.
These optional items can be included if provided by the faculty member:
- List of courses taught (webmaster will create links to the course description )
- Link to a web page created by the faculty solely for the purpose of supporting the role of educator at HCC. Links to unrelated, commercial or non-academic websites will not be allowed.
- Photograph- if the faculty member chooses to use a professional photo, it will be a recent shot of only the faculty member, not including family and friends. The photo will be a head shot representing the faculty member in professional attire. If a graphic other than a professional photo is selected, it will relate to the teaching discipline of the faculty member, and it will be subject to the approval of the Academic Dean.
- Other educational links related to the faculty members’ teaching discipline
- Information and/or links to College approved student organizations
- Curriculum Vitae- information related to educational background, professional experience, and professional development (i.e. resume, professional publications, professional presentations)
